This was a special 30th birthday present from Sarah’s parents, John and Anne. John had also come along for the day. The wonderful Lindholme lakes near Doncaster was the chosen venue.

It was a cool morning with a moderate westerly wind. Sarah started on the pole at 9 mts fishing on the bottom with a 6mm banded pellet, loose feeding 4mm hard feed carp pellets over the top.

First fish was a 2lb barbel closely followed by a quality F1. The action never slowed as a variety of species fell to the banded pellet. John meanwhile was fishing close in with a waggler also with a banded pellet on the hook and although it was more difficult for him to hit the bites. He still managed to catch a good carp, a barbel, a bream and some small skimmers.

I left them still fishing at about 4 pm and I guess Sarah had caught close to 50lbs.
